At Shape Up Kickboxing Cumming, GA, one fitness obstacle that we work with our kickboxers is the temptation to skip workouts. Skipping workouts can lead people off-course of their goals. If we skip one day, it may inspire us to skip two more workouts in a row. This ripple effect can then result in delaying the goal’s progress. Continuing this trend then results in being stuck with a bad habit to get out of.
If enough workouts are skipped in a row, it leads people to have to start over. And that’s never really a great feeling. One method to decrease the likelihood of missing a workout: change the mindset. Tell yourself that your workouts are self-care appointments with yourself. Would you not call ahead to cancel a doctor’s appointment? Don’t you always try to push yourself to make make every important meeting? A health appointment to workout and take care of your fitness needs is no different.
Starting a new workout program is always exciting. But when that newness fades, it’s important to push through and develop consistency. Decide: 1) How many times do you plan to make it to class?; 2) Which classes are you going to try to make?; 3)What’s Plan B if you can’t make it? By deciding that taking care of your health is a priority, it will change how you go about your day.
You are irreplaceable, and you deserve great self-care!
